about
I am a professor at the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences at the University of Haifa. Since 2023 I serve as director of the Chaikin Chair for Geo-Strategy, The Ezri Center for Iran and Gulf States Research, The Wydra Division for Shipping & Ports and The Maritime Policy & Strategy Research Center. I also lead the MA program in National Security and Maritime Strategy.
My research focus over the last decade was understanding the interrelation between technology and humans in modern warfare. Previously, I studied the Israeli radical right, terrorism, and counterterrorism.
From 2005 to 2023, I was a faculty member at the Government Department of The University of Texas at Austin. Most recently, I held the Ralph W Yarborough Centennial Professorship of Liberal Arts. I have a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Haifa.
